Threatening Letter Wasn't On My Christmas List

I received an unusual Christmas Gift this year....I still don't know how I feel about it.

It all started in August this year with a "little post" I wrote for my Daily Organized Chaos about Automatic Profit System.

My girlfriend wanted to purchase it to make a "quick buck", but I had to research it first...of course.

After hours of researching all signs pointed to SCAM so I decided to share my findings with other moms.

I had NO IDEA how far this little article will go and I had NO IDEA how many people got scammed by APS.

I just wanted other moms like me to do the research before they get all excited and hand over their credit cards.

Well, to make long story short on Christmas Eve I received an email from a lawyer asking me to remove my post and all of it's comments (there was not one positive comment).

According to his client the Automatic Profit System I wrote the post specifically to trash their good name and promote OTHER money making internet products.

Apparently my post is interfering with their business and it's hurting their relationship with their existing and new customers.

APS also feels that most if not all comment on that particular post are fake.

When I wrote the article I was hoping that people who had a success using that system will come forward and leave a positive comment, but no such thing happened. That is not my fault.......hear me David Palmer?

The wonderful lawyer also forbid me to quote and/or reprint his email to me????????????????????

Why? Is he hiding something?

However he did not forbid me to mention the email! So I am mentioning it.

I have a suggestion....if David Palmer is so concerned about my little blog writing about him them he should just contact me and show me/teach me for FREE ($97 value) how to make $150,000.00 in a year while working 1 hour a week pushing a button on my computer with no experience (his claims).

Did anything like this happen to you?

What would you do? Would you take the post down?

Would you write another post mentioning the lawyer email and asking David Palmer to teach you his system for free so you can admit you were wrong and his system is not a scam?

I need your help....what do you think?

P.S. How many emails like this you need to receive to make it big in a blog world? Am I on my way?

I would be freaked out, but it doesn't sound like you've done anything wrong.

Wow...you must be a big time blogger now for one post to have gotten the attention of the company lawyer. I'm not a lawyer nor do not know Canadian laws but as long as anything you said was not malicious I think "freedom of speech" should be on your side.

That would definitely freak me out, but don't let his "lawyer" status intimidate you. I'm sure you have rights as a blogger to post certain content!!!

Holy smokes! Sounds pretty strange that they were so concerned about your blog??? I better remove my post blasting Walmart.

The internet isn't considered private--ever. So if said "lawyer's" company was advertising on the internet originally, I'd say it's fodder for public criticism. How do we know this clown is a lawyer? Why would a lawyer for a successful business worry about your delightful, yet humble, blog. I wouldn't want him to come within miles of me. I just wouldn't respond at all, but I know that such things are disturbing. Good luck. Keep us informed.

What about freedom of speech? Isn't that pretty important? Way to stand up! Best of luck!!!

Happy New Year - may it be full of blessings, joy and free speech!

Good for you for having the courage to speak up, do your research, and look out for not only your friend, but for countless others who may have fallen for that scam. It's appalling that the company would employ the help of a lawyer to threaten you. Clearly they have something to hide and are afraid. It probably wouldn't hurt, however, to run the letter past a lawyer on your end. Perhaps a friend in your town, a law blogger, or free legal aide could advise if there's anything you need to do to keep yourself protected.

Wow - look at you stirring the pot! I would be freaked out....but clearly they have something to hide or scam if they are this concerned. You go!

Honestly, I am sure I'd freak out and take the post down. But I so admire you for doing it. Scams are horrible and we all need to stand up to them.
