Monday's Music Moves Me

It's Monday.....AGAIN!

On the brighter side....I think I am almost over my two week flu attack. I think last two days of taking Echinacea did it.

Note to self. Next time ECHINACEA ALL THE WAY!

Anyway, it's Monday and it's time to Rock n' Roll with:

Here is what to do if you would like to join this rockin' party:

First step Run over to You Tube, (or wherever), and lock & load!  Get your pick for the theme of the week.  Upcoming themes are over to you left.

Second Step:  Grab our "Monday's Music Moves Me" button (over to our right, right under mine)

Third step:  SIGN THE LINKY - Dance (follow) your host/hostesses, and grab their buttons.

Final step:  Start lookin' for a partner and boogie on down to her/his blog, and say hello, and tag (follow) her/him, and leave a nice comment.  If you've been tagged (followed) be hip, and get on over there, and tag (follow) her back and  leave a comment.

Since this week is a FREEBIE week I would like to present to you Mr. John Mellencamp and Cherry Bomb.

Well I lived on the outskirts of town
In an eight room farmhouse, baby
When my brothers and friends were around
There was always somethin' doin'

Had me a couple of real nice girlfriends
Stopped by to see me every once in a while
When I think back about those days
All I can do is sit and smile

That's when a sport was a sport
And groovin' was groovin'
And dancin' meant everything
We were young and we were improvin'

Laughin', laughin' with our friends
Holdin' hands meant somethin', baby
Outside the club, 'Cherry Bomb'
Our hearts were really thumpin'

Say, "Yeah yeah yeah"
Say, "Yeah yeah yeah"

The winter days, they last forever
But the weekends went by so quick
Went ridin' around this little country town
We were goin' nuts, girl, out in the sticks

One night, me with my big mouth
A couple guys had to put me in my place
When I see those guys these days
We just laugh and say, "Do you remember when

That's when a sport was a sport
And groovin' was groovin'
And dancin' meant everything?"
We were young and we were improvin'

Laughin', laughin' with our friends
Holdin' hands meant somethin', baby
Outside the club, 'Cherry Bomb'
Our hearts were really thumpin'

Say, "Yeah yeah yeah"
Say, "Yeah yeah yeah"
Alright

Say, "Yeah yeah yeah"
Say, "Yeah yeah yeah"

Seventeen has turned thirty-five
I'm surprised that we're still livin'
If we've done any wrong
I hope that we're forgiven

Got a few kids of my own
And some days I still don't know what to do
I hope that they're not laughing too loud
When they hear me talkin' like this to you

That's when a sport was a sport
And groovin' was groovin'
And dancin' meant everything?"
We were young and we were improvin'

Laughin', laughin' with our friends
Holdin' hands meant so much, baby
Outside the club, 'Cherry Bomb'
Our hearts were really thumpin'

Say, "Yeah yeah yeah"
Say, "Yeah yeah yeah"

When I was playing keys in my husband's band we played this song, and I had to drag out the old accordion, and believe that part wasn't all that easy to learn. Fun song. Cool video. Oh well thanks for playing along. Hope to see you next week.

I haven't heard this on in a while!

John Mellencamp's wife grew up about a mile from where I live now. Her mom still lives there (in Gilbertsville, PA)!
