Campers Behaving Badly and Meet & Greet Monday

As I already mentioned Mr. Misery decided to make this summer camping summer.

After our 10 day camping trip in the mid July we decided to leave our trailer at the resort till our boys have to go to school.

We go home every week for a day or so to make sure that we still have a house and to pay bills, of course. Other then that we are here doing pretty much nothing.

As lovely as it sounds I am counting the days till this never-ending camping trip is over. It's been an experience and I learned a lot about human nature.

You don't want to know the things I've seen and experienced while observing humans out of their natural habitat from my lawn chair.

My only hope is that the majority of these people don't behave like that on daily basis.

What is it about tent or trailer, campfire and alcohol that turns responsible and respectable (wishful thinking) adults into wild animals?

Is it the combination of all three that takes away all boundaries?

Seems like nothing is forbidden and everything is allowed.

Is there a camping rule that I don't know about?

A rule that lets you say and do anything that pops into your head while you're intoxicated and your children are watching you?

I am not a prude at all. I love to have fun, enjoy few drinks while camping, but I am aware at all times what I am doing, where I am and most of all where my children are.

Don't get me wrong. I did enjoy and still am the summer of camping and I've met few very nice people, but the things I've seen make wonder.

Why do some people behave worse then animals just because they are on vacation?

No wonder majority of children with parents behaving badly were rude, disrespectful and very loud and obnoxious. They don't know any better.

I've experienced children being punished for behaving the same way as their parents.

Why?

Do as I say and not as I do!
Yes, we live in a world of double standards. Till we start paying attention to our own behavior we can't expect our children to behave properly.

So to all of us adults out there.......please, let's stop behaving badly when our children are watching. We can still have fun and be respected in the morning.

It is true that most parents can't seems to see that they are actually as annoying as their kids. When parents don't walk their talk kids know, they aren't dump and very soon will back fired.

It's so disheartening to see parents like that!

Hi! New follower from Meet & Greet! It is a shame when parents behave like that - or don't behave :(

I think you'd have fun at www.magicalmouseschoolhouse.com, though! It's where Disney IS school (and parents set good examples!).

I totally agree. I always keep an eye on my kids and it makes some of my friends crazy, but I can't help it. Really, what do I have to do that is more important? I will admit to corrupting them a bit though. I try to be good, but...well, you know, sometimes those 4 letter words just come flying out! LOL

Those pictures made me feel so sad... The things that some children have to survive! I just don't want my child to have to survive my parenting, ya know? Good post!

All kinds of things are running through my imagination now that I've read this. It's probably best that you didn't go into detail. LOL!

Our neighbors had a similar experience while camping. They said that there was a large group playing the most vulgar music imaginable and that they finally had to complain to the manager of the camp ground.

Amen…

I could say a heck of a lot more about it, but I think that that word sums it all up.

You speaketh the truth!!! Oh man, that first picture made me giggle, though...and the kid is wearing a cross while feeding his dad a beer!!

I do hope you have some fun camping! But I can definitely understand how irritating it must be when those around you are acting that way. I just don't get people sometimes!

Yes! Oh my gosh, I totally agree with this post. It's all about setting good examples for your children and even the people around you.

When I drink and my nieces and nephews are around (since I don't have kids, these are my little young ones) I make extra sure to behave and act responsible. They look up to me, and it's pretty hard to look up to someone if they're passed out on the ground.

Oh wow!! What a bummer that people behave that way! And yes, kids do learn certain behaviors from their own parents!

You simply said what most of us think -- brava and well done!

I concur.

Bad parents, are you reading this????

So many of them out there, sadly....

Great post!

I don't know how you've done so much camping. Usually a few days is all I can take and never in a tent. I'm glad you've had a blast, and shared your summer w/ us.

Stopped by to say hi, That's a long camping trip! I'm lucky if I can make it 5 to 6 days at a time!

I've seen stuff like you say when I was camping, parents not watching their kids, etc. It's crazy to me too.

Hope you get back home soon - lol!

I've seen it while traveling too and also while living in my country I've seen tourists who behave like this.

I try so hard to evaluate myself and see if what I'm doing is what I want to see my kids doing.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer camping.
