I am joining Marilyn @ A Lot Of Loves for Wednesday Of Few Words. Stop by and link up as well.
Last week I braved the elements and took LP on overnight camping trip with his school. I was little worried since the weatherman assured us that it will be pouring rain for next few days.
I don't know what happened, but there was not a drop of rain and the only regret I had was that I didn't bring my shorts.
I have my own theory on the fantastic weather we were having.
LP attends Native School so I think some sort of Go-Away-Rain dance was performed on the morning of the camping trip.Well, whatever it was....THANK YOU!
We are not 1st Nation Natives, but I love the school and everything that it has to offer. Many people around me look down on the school and the 1st Nation people. The only reason they look down and would NEVER allow their kids to attend the school is because of IGNORANCE. (I will write a post about the school and our local Native Band soon)
With that said I ENJOYED our camping trip and so did LP.
Exploring after arrival
Enjoying delicious Bannock and Chili dinner
Little game of Tug'o'War
Evening concert with performances from 4 Native schools
Our own little performance
Almost quiet time....
LP pretending to sleep
The next morning.....
I am having a $30 Gift Certificate GIVEAWAY for CSN Stores so don't forget to ENTER!!!

I love bannock. I used to go to school up north and there were a lot of 1st Nations people up there. We ate a lot of bannock.
He evidently enjoyed himself! Looks like a lot of fun, too! sounds like a very enriching environment at the school. Is it a regular school year program or just summer? I used to send my boys to different schools & camps for experiencing different cultures. color is beautiful, whether it be in flowers, sky, water or people! Thanks 4 stopping by too!

You are brave. Not sure you'd find me camping for a school trip. But great pic that next morning. Happy WW! Drop by my linky party at http://weloveiowa.blogspot.com/2010/06/not-so-wordless-wednesday-boys-will-be.html
GrammyMouse, it is regular year round school LP is attending since Preschool. It is very enriching environment and I believe that LP will be a better person for going there.
Looks like he had a great time that is awesome I really should look into fun stuff like this for my kids
It's really pretty out there! You're lucky that you got to go with him!
I can't wait until my girls are old enough to enjoy camping! I loved sleeping in a tent, sitting by a campfire...of course, you can't really have open fires anymore :(
Happy WW! Thanks for linking up
What a great camping trip!! When I did my undergraduate degree, I minored in Canadian History and took a couple courses specific to the history of First Nations people in Canada. Many people don't realize the richness and diversity of the First Nations cultures and the adversity they've faced. I'm looking forward to reading your post.
What a beautiful location. I must admit that I am not an outdoorsy girl. For me, roughing it is a hotel with no blow dryer.
That last picture is amazing!
Beautiful pics. Makes me want to camp!
It has been a long time I haven't sleep in a tent. Your pics made me want a trip like that. I'm sure it would be fun for all of us.
Beautiful morning shot!
Gorgeous shots! I think Native schools are great. Way to go mama.
Thanks for stopping by and linking up. Sorry for stopping by a day late. Have a good one...
