It's been awhile since I brought to you Little Peanut Traveling Show and I thought it was time.
Yesterday I joined Little Peanut and his class on a school trip to Sockeye Salmon Release Celebration.
Usually I don't like school buses and I choose to take my own car, but the school got a new bus and LP was very excited and insisted on me riding with them. What's mama to do?
As we are riding to our destination LP looks outside the window and then he looks at me and out of nowhere this conversation starts:
LP: I really like beer. Dad lets me drink beer you know.
Me: He lets you have a little taste here and there. Don't say you drink beer with your dad or people will get the wrong idea.
LP: He lets me have a swig and it's good. Do you like beer?
Me: Sometimes. It depends on the occasion and the beer.
LP: Do you get drunk?
Me: Do you ever see me drink or be drunk?
LP: No. What do people get drunk from?
Me: Beer, wine and other alcohol.
LP: Does daddy get drunk?
Me: Did you ever see your daddy drunk?
LP: No, but he drinks like two beers sometimes.
Me: Two beers is not enough to get drunk.
LP: Good. So can I have two beers?
Me: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
LP: I like beer anyway.
Seriously, where did I lose him? He's only 7 , but I think drinking and alcohol conversation might be on Mr.Misery's agenda when he gets home.
I am also double tasking today. I decided to join Shell @ Things I Can't Say for Cutest Pet Picture Contest so I can show off our new family addition Jack and try to win him some Tooth Soap Pet Pack.
If you have a cute pic of your pet go over to Shell and enter.

Jack has my vote!
LP is too funny and you handled the beer conversation as well as any Mom could have. That was funny!
Kids!
I'm so sorry it's been so long since I stopped by -- it's been a crazy month here with one event after another but I'm happy to be back with my blog family.
Missed you, gal!
Peace and serenity,

You just gotta grab those "teachable moments". I like the follow-up plan too. Good for you taking the bus!
I like Jack already and he is the cutest...I think he'll win!!
LP is funny but you are right a conversation with Mr Misery will be just great. They come up with some of the wildest things to say but I think that when they bring their thoughts to us (their parents) it is a winnable situation because we can give them the best advice before they go looking elsewhere (like their peers).
miss you much!!!
LOL!!! That conversation was priceless. If he were 2 years younger you just know he would have told that story for show and tell!
My daughter is 10 and I clip every single drunk driver srticle and make her read it. I am a little over the top like that, but her dad (my ex) is in a wheelchair because of drunk driving.
I'm slightly dreading the time for these conversations with my two. You handled it really well I thought especially for it taking place in such an unexpected environment!
Hope the rest of the field trip is fun and that picture of the dog is adorable!
That's a hilarious conversation, and one for the husband to continue :)
AWE Jack! Such a sweet face!
LMAO @ your conversation! OMG!!!
And what a cutie!
OOHH so cute ! a schnoodle?? i love it.. sounds like a dessert!
That is a great story. He had you raveled in his kid logic. He thought he almost had you!
It sounds like the two of you have a great relationship. I like how you answered the questions with questions. I'll have to remember that one!
Jack is adorable! Whenever a child asks me if I drink, I just say I drink ice tea. Leave out the long island part of that statement.
Jack is so cute. He has his serious face on!
The questions kids ask!
I love Jack. He is so adorable!
Just checking in after a while away from reading blogs.

Love what kids say sometimes. I have a 7 y.o too. AMAZING the thoughts he comes up with! Funny story. My blog just turned TWO! Whoot! I read somewhere that two is really like TWENTY in Blog Years. Anyway, I went back..way back to those early days when my blog was a baby. I read the stories...and WOW, I was pretty green back then. Then I read the comments and there YOU were! Cool! So THANKS for supporting me "back then" and stop back by for a peek of me two years later. Thanks!
Like your conversation with your little one. Sometimes we underestimated them. I got a funny story about drinking too in my blog sometime ago. It is also something that my son said when he was that age. they sure stunned us from time to time
Jake is so cute. Hope you win the contest. I try to avoid school field trips - lol. So you're doing better then me.
P.S. Happy Birthday (meant to say that on your latest post)
