Just to recap last 12 months for you:
- My husband lost his job overnight after 10 years without warning.
- We had to pull our kids out from minor hockey due to dirty politics involving my husband
- We had to use his severance pay to half finish our new house before winter (we we're living in a travel trailer).
- I learned the truth about some people I trusted and lost one of my best friends in a process ( no she didn't die - she showed her true colors).
- Christmas morning our 5 year old epileptic puppy died in a seizure.
- My older son and I spent 3 months in and out of the hospital due to his diabetes complications.
- My husband applied for 475 jobs in last 11 months - was hired 4 times - 3 times the company closed or project was canceled before he started or right after he started (he worked 3 weeks in last 11 months).
- I started home daycare and after 1 month I lost half the income due to lay-offs in our local plant.
- First time in my life I had to deal with Collection agency and learn my rights the hard way.
- First time in my life I had to borrow money from family just to pay bills and buy food and medications for my children.
- First time in my life I could not afford to send my son to the Diabetes camp in the summer (I think this one was the hardest)
As of October 2009 I am taking on a personal challenge to change my life from misery to happiness. I know I can do it......just watch me world!

Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest!!
Ok I just read this post and I am ready to come where you are with my boxing gloves on....I can only imagine what this fells like. Someone very dear to me was told that she has Type 2 Diabetes in April of this year and we have been going on a worldwind about it.
I just wrote a post about "friendhsip" yesterday, here is the link:

I know how that goes.
Not going to be too long but good luck with everything.
That's a rough year for sure. I have Type 2 diabetes, which I know is not near as bad as Type 1, but I have a good sense of what Type 1 is like since I had to be on insulin before and during my pregnancies. It was extremely rough. I hated every minute of it and I was forced to take insulin many times a day (including in the middle of night) for months on end. But I knew there was an end in sight for me and hopefully I won't need to deal with insulin until I am an old, old woman. Unfortunately your son doesn't have that luxury. During those pregnancy months I found myself so grateful to Dr. Banting for discovering insulin...and he was Canadian too!
